Another busy week in Brighton, once again, some fantastic touring bands. This week sees Resident Records’ album of the year ‘Lost In The Dream’ brought to The Dome by The War On Drugs, a must see for those lucky ticketholders who snatched up the sold out tickets. Asides from this, there is plenty to get your teeth into so here’s our tips…
Monday 16/2/2015 – Wirral 5 piece and family to The Coral, The Sundowners come on down to Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar this Monday, having very recently released their debut album which was produced by none other than The Coral member James Skelly – they are poised to provide a psychedelic haze to the start of your week, perfect pop harmonies executed sublimely. Supported by She Drew The Gun, also from the Wirral, Brighton’s own rock outfit: Of Empires and acoustic/folk local man Sam Jordan. Should be a brilliant night, £7 advance tickets.
Thursday 19/2/2015 – Thursday brings something special with a local night of sweet sounds reverberating from the haven that is The Joker at the top end of London Road. Thyla bring their alt/grunge sound to headline, influenced by the likes of Band of Skulls, Warpaint and Jeff Buckley; second up we have MarthaGunn who graced Give It Back Magazine way back in July – a fresh 60s female fronted sound. Finally, we have one of our current favourites Fallow Deer on first, a great young punk kick in the teeth – a perfect occasion and it’s so god damn free.
Friday 20/2/2015 – Ending a hard week’s work we have another showcase at Fitzherberts, seeing a hell raising punk night couldn’t be much better. River Jumpers hit their Brighton jig of the tour on Friday and are supported by College, Harker, Happy Accidents and Facing Up. It should be great, expect beer, calamities and all the other success signs that suggest a belter of a night. Once again, brought to you freely – it all starts at 8pm.
