Earlier this month, Silver’s Got Strings gave us something to keep our toes warm over Christmas, it sounds like The Pogues crashed the festive party of Biffy Clyro. The folk-rock track draws on the likes of Washington Irving with it’s catchy, bumbling guitar section, something that throws the alcohol down your neck getting your arm going in that ‘yee-ar’ movement. It’s fun and fits this ol’ winter time, Christmas spirit down to the ground.
Well structured time signatures give the song dynamic as it flails you from the folk jig into the swaying, headbang of Them Crooked Vultures and the likes. Happy bloody Christmas one n’all.
