Released through the echochamp label and mixed by Magic Gang guitarist Kristian Smith, slacker rock newcomer’s ‘Let It Go’ single fits the ethos and sensibility of the Brighton-based collective, with a well-crafted alternative pop song, minus the pretence.
A guitar riff solely initiates proceedings until the track later kicks in and glides along at a nonchalant pace, before a chorus comparable to Pavement brings some 90s US alt-rock lyricism to the table.
Sounding like an aggressive Real Estate mixed with The Shins’ penchant for melody, the track climaxes in a blaze of Pinkerton-esque vigour, giving indications about future releases.
