Why Should I Be Excited About… Rooster Cole -Marwoods, 25/3/2016

All Brighton bands. Town’s blaady brimming with music as usual. Rooster Cole reminds me of a slightly more active/interactive/optimistic version of Matt Berninger (The National), and a slightly darker facing Darwin Deez. His song ‘Evil’ is a really super nice little number and out on Woodland Recordings. His song ‘O Darkness Come For Me’ shares a similar vocal melody and lyrical content as that Bonnie Prince Billy track ‘I See A Darkness’. Mum Dad and the Kids are a Give It Back favourite and share some members with other great Brighton live bands such as Clowwns. They pack a punch in the jagged edges of their onslaught that many in Brighton have grown familiar with over the last few years. This Party sounds a bit like a Damon Albarn fronted slightly dirtier U2 or some such. All in all, come down and see what is happening.
