Described by GIGWISE as ‘your new favourite band’, Sløtface (formerly Slutface) are a Nordic four-piece set to pierce your ears to the tune of ever-evolving punk sub-genres. Luckily for Brightoners, they’re taking over BLEACH this Halloween.
With fast paced guitars that sound like they’ve come straight from the 80s, Sløtface’s single ‘Take Me Dancing’ is a happily aggressive dance-punk number that inspires the need for energy and pleasure in the listener. Vocally, the group aren’t too dissimilar to early 2010s indie-pop outfit, the Jezabels, but tooled up with far more glucose in their blood; Sløtface are prime cut if you want grin the grim away on Halloween. Rhythmically, the band are tight and confident, adding pleasantly melodic bass lines to their tunes to offset their smooth three-part vocal harmonies.
Stripped down and cool, basic and bold, Sløtface have teased at premiering a new song at BLEACH on the 31st and that’s enough to make me forget about the imminent clown apocalypse.
